Lexie is the foundation bitch for Nasusa Perm. Reg'd & Taymarc Whippets. We were most fortunate to acquire this bitch from our very good friends, Marc & Tanya Fontaine (Taymarc). Lexie was given to them by her breeders, Joan & Larry Benson, because they thought she would make Marc & Tanya a good coursing dog. She did course, and only needed a second to complete her field championship, when an injury ceased her coursing career. However, Lexie's forte was in the show ring and the whelping box.

Lexie was a bitch of exquisite type and exceptional movement. She had that rarely seen effortless side gait, and wonderful front assembly, that Nasusa Whippets have become known for. She loved to go to dog shows, and loved being the star. After her retirement, when we would bath other dogs for upcoming shows, she jumped in the tub, because she didn't want to be left behind.

Lexie's show career comprised of 10 Best in Specialty shows, several Best of Breeds at multi-breed specialties, 13 Group 1sts, and numerous group placements. She was a top 10 Hound in Canada in 1985, and Number 1 Whippet in 1986.

One of the highlights of Lexie's show career was at the AWC National in 1994, when she was awarded an Award of Merit, at 12+ years of age, by Mrs. Joan Frailey (Terrace Hill)

Lexie Litters:

The "Cologne" Litter
This was the first Whippet litter bred by Nasusa. It was co-bred with Marc & Tanya Fontaine, of Taymarc Whippets. After a lot of research and discussions with various Whippet people the decision was made to breed her to Daniel Lockhart's Am.Ch. Saxon Shore Amber Waves, ROMX (Jason). What a decision it was......

The "Start" Litter
This litter is the second litter bred by Nasusa. Again, we went to Daniel Lockhart (Saxon Shore). While Carla attended the American National Specialty in Dallas in 1989 she saw Saxon Shore Dream Master where Dr. Barbara Henderson (Whippoorwill) gave a strong futurity class to this puppy. What a find for us. He is a result of Jason being bred back to his mother. Susan also saw the dog that summer, while attending the AWC Western Specialty, and the decision was made, Lexie would be bred to Buster in the late fall of 1989.
